VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE. Last evening there was a meeting of a number of the Naval .Volunteers and others desirous of joining. The meeting- was held at the Albert Brewery. It appears that there has lately been some dissatisfaction among various members of the Naval Volunteers, and a number of them determined to endeavour to form a fresh company. They wrote to Major Gordon on the subject5, and he gave them the necessary authority. The meeting of last Evening was very largely attended. Mr. Whifcton occupied the chair, and explained the c*cumstances which had. led to the present mteting. He then read the letter from Major Q"O?don, containing the authority to form a secoad company of Naval Volunteers. The election of officers was then proceeded with. Mr. G-eorge Johnson was elected captauj,*1 and Mr. H. M, Henderson first lieutenant. Messrs. Robert Wells and Rule were elected first class petty officers, anil Messrs. JLyan and Cowan second class petty officers, fir. Crawford was, appointed Secretary. A committee was then formed to take into consideration the question of uniforms, and some formal business was transacted, after which the meeting adjourned.
