We learu that the conduct of the notorious Plummer and others of the prisoners in the Stockade has been so bad of late that it has been found necessary to increase the force of guards, *.and an order has consequently gone up from the Superintendent for the employment of three additional warders. Of course after the manner in which these prisoners have conducted themselves, smashing windows and making frequent attempts at escape, no hope can be held out to them of any curtailment of sentence. The Onehunga Ladies' Benevolent Society beg to acknowledge the receipt of five pounds, the proceeds of an entertainment given by the Orpheus Ethiopian Troupe. We understand that this troupe will give another performance at Onehunga, on Friday evening, in aid of the funds for the repair of the schoolhouse. A reward of £20 is offered by Messrs. Morrin, Clarke, and Beveridge, for the apprehension of the party or parties who maliciously laid down poison on Saturday last, in the Eemuera district, by which some valuable dogs were destroyed. The members of No. 5 Company A. E. V. will assemble at the shed, Princes-street, at balf-paat aeren o'clock this evening, for drill.
