Mails will close as under :— For Whitiangi, per Agnes, this day, at 3.30 p.m. For Thames, this day, at 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m., and to-morrow, at 11.30 a.m., 4.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. For Great Barrier, per Mary Ann**, this day, at 5 p.m. For Tauranga and Opotiki, per Bella, tomorrow, at 9 a.m. For Taranaki and Southern Provinces per s.s. Taranaki, to morrow, 25th inst., at 10 a.m. Late letters and telegrams for transmission from the Nelson Station will be received at this office till 10.30 a.m., and at Onehunga till 11.30 a.m. " i For Napier and Gisborne, per Star of the South, to-morrow, at 3 p.m. Late letters and telegrams for transmission from the Napier station will be received at this office till 3.30 p.m. Note.—Post-offices have been opened at North Omauharo and Tryphena, Great Barrier. ISTote.—Correspondence for Belgium may in future bo addressed to be sent by the Suez route via Brindisi direct. The rates of postage collected in New Zealand on ' such coi*respondence will pay for its conveyance as far only as Alexandria. These rates are as follow : —Letters not exceeding half an ounce, 6d.; every additional half an ounce, Gil. Newspapers Id. each. Books and pattern parcels not exceeding four ounces, Id. ; four ounces to eight ounces, Bd. ; every additional eight ounces, Bd. The weight of pattern parcels must not exceed eight ounces. S.
