The following Justices occupied the Bench : Captain Syrnonds (Chairman), Messrs. Paton, Martelli, Every McLean, Kells, Colonel de Quincey, Messrs. Logan, Robertson, C. O'Niell, G. M. O'Rorke. All the old licences were regranted, as follows, with the exception of two, which were adjourned : —

A new application for a licence for a house situated at the junction of Queen-street and Princes-street, to be called the Railway Terminus Hotel. Mr. Shoehan appeared for John Lundon, the applicant, and stated that the house was in course of erection, and if the Bench would grant a certificate it would be conditional on the proper completion of the premises. \There was no opposition, and the Bench granted the application, adjourning the formal granting of the licence to the 21st June.—The Licence for the Howick Arms, Peter Brady, was\ JifspefhttcQTfill the 21st Jane, in consequeitcVSf % fepdrt fnm Constable McOabe that the land lord was frequently drunk, and the house left to the cure of young children, With regard to an appli-, cation from Richard Burke, holder of a licence for the Ferry Hotel, Panmurej Mr. Brookfield appeared to oppose, and
stated this wns informal and not according to tHe, terpis of the Act, inasmuch as the application w.as really to transfer the licence'to a new house which was in course of erection at some distance.—Mr. Sheehan supported the application.—The Bench adjourned the consideration of the issue of the transfer until the"S.'2lst June, whereupon Mr. Brookfield pointed out that by the new Licensing Act the Court could only adjourn from day to day. But the Bench held they had the power to adjourn to such time as they thought fit.—Constable Greene laid before the Bench a detailed report on each house. In one or two cases where the requirements of the Act in some respects had. not been, attended to, the applicants were informed that these matters must be at once provided.
