NATAL BRIGADE.—ELECTION OF MR. DARGAVILLE.
The Naval Volunteer Brigade held a meeting last night, at the Drill Shed, Fort Britomart, the main business being the election of a successor to the late Captain Guilding. There was a large attendance of members, and after the consideration of finances had been postponed, names of candidates were submitted. Mr. J. M. Dargaville, of Must and Co., and Lieutenant Le Roy were proposed, and after a ballot had been taken, it was found that the number of votes were equal. The casting vote of the chairman was given in favor of Mr. Dargaville. ~We sincerely congratulate the Brigade on the selectionfwhich has been made. Mr. Dargaville, not only from, social position, but bonJwmmie, is calculated to popularise the branch of the service entrusted to him, and we have no doubt that his attention to duty will go far to increase the efficiency of the Brigade.
