The Evening Star. TUESDAY APRIL 18, 1871.
We have to acknowledge the receipt from Messrs. JHenderson and Macfarlane of a very prettily-executed map of the Central Pacific Railroad and its connections. The plan gives not only the line itself as far as Omaha, but all the various lines in continuation, branching from that station to almost all the points of the compass, leading to the frontiers of Canada and of all the older states. The various stations, towns, rivers, lakes and mountains, with the distances, and elevation of the principal points, are also given, and a series of twenty-four nicely-executed woodcuts of the most picturesque and striking s-.enes on the route. On the reverse is a vast amount of information respecting the faros, &c, and the whole seems to give a very handy and concise description of this most interesting route for travellers.
We are requested to remind auctioneers that their licences expired on the 14th inst.
