" FROU FROU." To the Editor of the Stab

Sib, —Allow me, being a new arrival, per Hero, to claim a small space in the columns of your excellent journal, to express my thanks to the lessee of the Prince of Wales Theatre, for one of the most enjoyable dramatic evenings I have passed for some time. Imprimis : Your theatre here surprised me, not on account of its size, but its comfort, the good accommodation for its patrons, the excellent light, and the cleanliness of the place, renders it one of the most delightful bijou temples of amusement I have visited in the Australias. "Frou Frou" —ever " Frou Frou." In Sydney, Melbourne, New York—"Frou Frou," and in Auckland, again "Frou Frou" claims niy attention and patronage — for I am not a dead-head. On referring to the programme, I must congratulate Miss Flora Anstead on her delightfully natural and unstagey delineation. Mrs. B. N. Jones evidently possesses a great amount of piquant humor; Miss Jessy Raymond, considerable pathos ; Mrs. W. Ryan, a good-humoured and perfectly wordly knowledge of her profession. Being a stranger, I scarcely know how to class the gentlemen ; but this company possesses histrionic treasures in the trio of evidently " old professionals," men well up to the mark, and who do not miss their opportunity of seeming their points in the persons of Messrs. Ryan, B. N. Jones, and J. P. Hvdes. The stage appointments and scenery reflect great credit indeed upon ftlie management. The orchestra, not numerous, but very judiciously selected, and trusting that when I return from the Waikato you will allow me further space to notice this wellorganized company in detail, and thanking your courtesy, and the ladies and gentlemen who provided ma with such a delightfal evening, I am, &c, QITAETEB TeAP.
