There is no communication with the Thames to-daj by telegraph. The hull of the wrecked cutter Alabama was sold this morning for £5. The p.s. G-olden Crown will leave for the Thames at 9 o'clock to-morrow morning. The p. 3. Eoyal Alfred leaves for the Thames this afternoon at 4.30, and will take the place of the p.s. Duke of Edinburgh for Wangarei to-morrow, for this trip only.

We drew attention to the intimation in another column regarding an unusual treat to be given on Easter Monday a-id Tuesday in the Albert Barracks. From the programme of the Athletic Games, and from the names of the Committee of Management, but most of all from the appearance and performances on the occasion of the celebrated athletes, Messrs. Harris, Hewitt, and Bird, we are confident that the entertainment provided will be highly appreciated by our citizens. We shall refer to the subject more in detail on another occasion.

A correspondent writing from Sydney under date March 21st, says : —" Mr. and Mrs. George Barrel! are playing at the Prince of Waies Theatre, but to very poor houses. Mr. J. B. Howe also did very little here, scarcely paying expenses. Mr. Dry is here with hi 3 picture; doing very little."

The nineteenth anniversary services, in connection with the High-street Congregational Chapel, -were held yesterdny. The "Rev. James Cosh preached in the morning, aad the Rev. J. J. Lewis in the evening. A collection vras made at the close of each service-, in aid of the chapel funds. The Mount Eden Highway Board give notice that they will hand over to a solicitor for recovery, all rates not paid within fourteen days. A dividend will be payable to the shareholders in the All Nations Gold Mining Company on Thursday next.
