NAPIER.

The Times of the 17th says : —The s.s. Napier will leave for Poverty Bay and Auckland to-morrow. In connection with this vessel, it is a matter to be regretted that she will have to proceed to sea without being repaired at this port, for, slight as the damage is that she has sustained, there is not the requisite convenience here to give her an overhaul. We are glad, however, to hear from Mr. C. Days, of this port, that he has obtained the lease of a piece of ground on Gough Island from the Government for the purpose of erecting a slip, and that the work will be at once proceeded with.
