ANOTHER SUDDEN DEATH.
"We have to record another case of sudden death, which took place in. a house in Wafec-field-street, about six o'clock last evening, the deceased being a labouring man named Kobert Canning, aged 47 years. It appears that a mate of his was in the lock-up for drunkenness, and about half-past five o'clock Canning was taking down some refreshments, when, being at the time in High-street, he waa suddenly seized with a violent pain in the chest. A friend who was accompanying him advised him to return liome at once, which he did, but he had no sooner reached his own houso than he fell down dead. The police were immediately communicated with, and Constable "Walker fetched Dr. Pierce to the deceased. The doctor at once pronounced life to be extinct. He stated that the cause of death was apoplexy, and will give a certificate to that effect to-day. Canning was an unmarried man, so far as is known, and had no relatives in the colony. About a week ago he was in the lock-up for drunkenness ; since then nothing has been seen of him by the police.
