THE GALE.

The [north-east, gale which commenced yesterday evening, continued throughout the night and to-day, blowing hard. Several small vessels dragged during the night, but up to the present time no serions damagehasbeen clone. The barque Duke of Edinburgh has dragged from her anchorage, and is now lying only a few feet from the Queen-street wharf. The ps. Lady Bowen left for the Thames, but on reaching Brown's Island had to return. The p.s. Golden Crown did not leave on her usna' trip to tbe Thames ; and the ferry boats to the North Shore have only been able to make two or three trips.
