CLEARANCES.

Bengal, barque, 323 tons, J. F. Hummel, for Newcastle, in ballast.

The cutter Whitby cleared for Mercury Bay to-day, with a cargo of sundries, and will sail to-night. There was no appearance of the steamers "Wanganui and Luna in the Mamikau at one o'clock to-day.

The cutter Mahurangi brings 200 sheep from Mahurangi.

The Putter Mary Eliza arrived from Tauranga this morning, with three passengers, and the following cargo : —BOO bushels wheat, 50 bHffs m»ize, 12 tons gum.

A soiree will be held in aid of the Trust Fuikl of Hie Rernuera Congregational Church, this evening ; tea, at 6 o'clock.
