Hewly liberally treated while on bowj tiT,^ and looked as fine a body of nati^t J^I1 age, physique, and general appeara " 8?^ landed as any former arrivals. ff?. ?* Anderson we learn that fe ; s not to get natives from some o f the f gl J visited, chiefly m consequence of so m vessels from Fiji visiting them, and punufcl what appears to be forcible carrying aj^of Polynesians by persons in charge of |U Fijian crafts, of which no less than tl v were counted during Captain Anderson's trio around the islands, while only five vessels on a similar errand as the Amy BobsartwaJ from ports of Queensland. There can be little doubt, from what we have heard, that the mode in which Polynesians are taken from their native places for Fijian plantations is open to inquiry, rnrl that some measures ofa controllable nature must be exercised bvllie proper authorities, or else the difficulty already experienced in procuring islanders for this colony will increase to an extent likely f a mate employers think seriously of an attempt to import other colored laborers, either Coolies or Chinese.— Queensland limes.
