BAY OF ISLANDS.
[from our own correspondent.] Friday, February 24 The Sea Gull arrived here on the 18th February after a capital run of eight days, having left Levuka on the 10th February. Experienced light _T.E. winds for two days after leaving Levuka, when the wind freshened to the N.E. On the 15th the wind chopped ! round to the south, with thick weather, and ! from the 16th to the 18th had the wind S.E., increasing to a very strong breeze, with a heavy sea on the 18th. She will load coals for Auckland. The Kauri left Levuka for Auckland on the Bth February, and the Magellan Cloud left there for Clarence River on the 9th. The Wainui was lying in Levuka when the Sea Gull left. The Young Australian sailed for Sydney on the 3rd, loaded with oil, cotton, and cotton seed.
