Me. Stevens' Repoet.—There has been a fair business doing in gold mining shares during the week, and there is evidence of increased confidence in the permanent valua of mining property. The chief fluctuation in price has bsen in the Cale Jonian sbaves, which, after falling as low as £46 with div., advanced, almost at once to £60 ex div. This company paid on the 23rd in3lant a dividend of £G per shore (£2800), and the Thames Gold Mining Company havo declared a dividend payable on Monday next of £1 per share (£5000).
