THE NORTH PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY of San Prancisco having entered into a contract with the Honorable the Postmaster- G-eneral of New Zealand for the conveyance of Mails between San Prancisco, Honolulu, Piji, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, and vice versa, the date 3of sailing will be from Port Chalmers on the Ist and from Auckland on the 7th of every month, to commence from Port Chalmers on the Ist of April next. The Service will be performed by the Powerful Side-wheel Steamers the 'NEBRASKA,' 2143 Tons Register, 'NEVADA,' 2143 Tons Register, 'DAKOTA,' of 2153 Tons Register, all built in 1865, under official supervision, and classed extra Al at American Lloyds. Por Passenger accommodation these vessels are xmsurpassed by any afloat. Perfect arrangements have been made to connect with , the Pacific Railway, and with the magnificent lines of steamers running between New York and England. Passengers will be booked right through. Pirst-class fare, from all ports in New Zealand to England, including the use of the celebrated Silver Palace Cars over the American Continent, will not exceed £85. Second and third-class passengers will be taken at proportionately low rates. Eeturn tickets at a reduced rate will be issued, and paisengers will be allowed to remain over at any and all ports and stations called at. The contract time between San Prancisco and Auckland, and vice versa, is 24 days. Passengers who may desire to proceed right through will reach England within 40 days from Auckland. Every exertion will be made to make this the popular passenger route. Arrangements will be made to connect in New Zealand with the intercolonial steamers, »o that Australasian passengers may be conTeyed right through at a slight increase upon New Zealand rates.
