JUNCTION. - FALSE EEPOETS
Giujiamstown, 3 p.m. The Herald (late Sea Lion Battery) started work this morning. The "West Coast Company, Messenger's Hill, have crushed seven ounces to the ton. The mine is looking exceedingly well, and the reef has a very rich face. The report of a rich find in the Junction is not correct. I visited the mine yesterday evening, and saw nothing unusual. The Caledonian have 30 cwt. of specimens. They commenced to crush at the Hauraki battery this morning. There is an enquiry for shares in the West Coast, Thames Grold Mining, Inverness, Belfast, and Nonpareils are brisk. Caledonians have sold at £50 this morning. A very rich find has been made in the Waiteinata, and a large quantity of exceedingly rich specimens brought to grass.
