Esq., Justices.]
Drunkenness.—W. McLeod, G-. G. Williams, and J. Morris, for first offences, were fined 5s and costs; and H. Turles, J. McCarthy, and Annie Swift, for second offences, were each fined 10s and costs, or in default the U3ual alternative. Larceny.—J. Tackabury was charged by T. Sergeant with having stolen a looking glass, value 12s 6d.—T. Sergeant deposed fchat on the 12th in3t., on leaving his house for about fifteen minutus, ho missed the looking glass produced.—Mary Bedford deposed lhab prisoner came to Mrs. Carrol's and ofiered the glass for sale, and said the glass was his own private property. Gave him a shilling for it. Gave the glass to Detective Ternahan. Detective Ternahan deposed to his having arrested prisoner, who said he had got the glass from another person.—For the defence W. Dick gave evidence of no importance. —The prisoner, who is a very frequent offender in pelty larceny, was sent to gaol for six months. Threatening- Lang-uage.—Mary Elcock was charged by Mary Knox with this offence. —Mr. Brock for the defendant.—Complainant not being prepared to go on with the case, it was dismissed. Assault.—J. Gray was charged by Mary Dempsey with having struck her little b.oy with'a riding whip, on the 11th February.— Mary Dempsey deposed to having had her attention called to her child by next witness, and : then seen him lifting the boy over the fence into her yard.—Elizabeth Skinner deposed to having seen the assault, which was of a very ! trumpery nature.—Fined 5s and costs,
