Grahamstowk, 3 p.m. A. deputation of the unemployed met His Honor the Superintendent this morning, asking assistance for the making of a track to the new rush at Tararu. His Honor said he would give the matter his serious consideration. The deputation also requested the use of the Mechanics' Institute, for the unemployed to hold their meetings. Nothing fresh from the Caledonian. A largo number of miners have left for the new rush at Tararu. A man named John Wood met with an accident in the Shotover claim. He was removed to the hospital. The Caledonian Company. — Sine« the rich find we reported on Monday, another choice lot of rich specimens were brought to grass, and there are now about 11 cwt. to hard. The general stuff also is lool.ing remarkably rich. A specimen crushing will take place on Thursday next, and on Saturday g retorting, frjin which great thing 3 may be expected, will follow, and will probably enable the directors to pay another dividend.

The Whatj Company.—The pumps which suppliod the tables and boiler of the Wb.au machine have been oub of repair, and the mill was for several days idle while repairs were being effected. Yesterday, however, it was started to work again, and is now in full employment on stuff from the company's own mine.

The Tookey Company.—Wo regret to say that another accident, bj which the progress of this mine ■will be delayed for some days, Las occurred to the pumps, but the extent of the injury is not yet known. Tho water in the shaft had been successfully combatted and brought under, and the manager, Mr. Dewar, had made all liis arrangements for sending down the first shift to continue the sinking of the shaft yesterday, but during the night the accident referred to occurred, necessitating a stoppage of the maohine.
