Notice is hereby given that the Commissioners under the City Board Act, 1563, the City Board -*ct, 1863, Amendment Act, and the City Board Act Amendment Act, 1865, intend upon MONDAY, the oth day of February, 1371, to make a General Rate of Eiohtpence per Pound, and also a Sewerage Rate of One Penny per Pound, on the Rateable value of Property Assessable under the said Act and Amendment Acts, for the period from Ist December, IS7O, to 31st May, 1871, and that a statement of the proposed rate is deposited in tho office of the Collector of Rates, Canada Buildings, Queen-street, for inspection by the Ratepayers, of all which notice is hereby given, in terms of the said Act, and Amendment Acts. YTTTHEREAS the Kerosine Store in Mechanics' Bay was destroyed by fire on the morning of Thursday, the 26th day of January instant; and whereas the Music Hall in Sy-monds-street was destroyed by fire on the morning of Friday, the 27th January instant, , both fires having occurred under circumstances which suggest the suspicion of incendiarism : NOTICE is hereby given that the above REWARD of FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS will be paid upon conviction of the person or persons concerned in the destruction of either building.
