Mails will close as under :— For Tauranga and Opotiki, per Tauranga, this day, at 3 p.m. For Thames, this day, at 5.30 p.m., and tomorrow, at 5.30 a.m., 2.30 p.m., and 5.30 p.m. For Tauranga, via Thames, this day, at 5.30 p.m., and to morrow, at 5.30 p.m. For Kapanga, Driving Creek, and Tiki, per Challenger, on Thursday, 19th instant, at 9.30 a.m. For liji, per Wainni, on Tlmvsday, 19th inst., at 11.30 a.m. Eor Wangarei, &c, per Samson, on Friday, 20th inst., at 3.30 p.m. For Russell and Kawakawa, per Comerang, on Friday, 20th inst., at 3 p.m. For Napier and Gisborne, per Go-Ahead, this day, at 5 p.m. For Taranaki, Nelson, and Southern Provinces, per Rangatira, to-morrow, at 10 a.m. Late letters and telegrams for transmission from the Nelson Station will be received at this office till 10.30 a.m. and at Onehunga till 11.30 a.m. N o t e .—Closed mailj for letters and telegrams will be made up at this office daily for Tauranga, overland via Thames. Hours will be notified. Note. —The rates of postage inNew Zealand to be charged on correspondence to the United Kingdom, via Marseilles and Brindisi are as follows :—Letters not exceeding half-an-ounce, Is. 3d.; not exceeding one ounce, 2s. 6d. ; and so on, Is. 3d. for every additional half ounce, or fraction thereof. Newspapers under four ounces each, 4d. Books and pattern parcels not exceeding one ounce, 2d. ; not exceeding two ounces, 4d.; not exceeding four ounces, 7d.; not exceeding eight ounces, Is. 2d. ; and so on, Is. 2d. for every additional eight ounces or fitction thereof.
