ARRIVAL OF THE WONGA WONGA.
The "Wonga. Wonga left Auckland at 2 p.m7th December, and arrived in Honolulu at 3 p.m. 24th December, having experienced head winds the greater part of the passage. Macauley's Island was passed on the 9th December, and Sunday Island the following morning ; the volcano on the latter island was in eruption. The Moses Taylor arrived off Honolulu on the night of the 24th ult., and came alongside the wharf the next morning. She was to leave again early on the 28th ult.
The Wonga Wonga left Hdnolulu at 7 p.m. 26th December. On the 9th January, at noon, passed close to Bowdich Island, Savaii Island, at 3 p.m. of the 10th, and Boscowan and Kepple Islands on the morning of the 11th. Moderate N.E. trades were experienced to the equator, since then calms and baffling winds. On the 11th insfc. strong S.W. gale. Sighted Fanal Island and Great Barrier at 3.30 a.m. 13th inst., and arrived in Auckland at 8.30 a.m. same day.
