Mails will close as under :—- For Thames, this day, at 5.30 p.m., and tomorrow at 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. For Levuka, Fiji, per Seagull, to-morrow, at 11 a.m. For Russell and Kawakawa, per Comerang, to-morrow, 13th inst., at 3 p.m. For Wangarei, &c, per Samson, to-morrow, at 5 p.m. For Sydney and the Australian colonies, India, China, Mauritius, Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Marseilles, and United Kingdom, via Suez and Southampton, (for letters specially so addressed) per Wonga Wonga, six hours after the arrival of that steamer from Honolulu.

For Taranaki and the Southern provinces, per Phcebe, immediately after the arrival of the Wonga Wonga. For Kapanga, Driving Creek, and Tiki, per Challenger, on Monday, 16th inst., at 5 p.m. Note. —Closed maib for letters and telegrams wiU be made up at this office daily for Tauranga, overland via Thames. Hours will be notified. Note.—The rates of postage in New Zealand to be charged on correspondence to the United Kingdom, via Marseilles and Brindisi are as follows :—Letters not exceeding half-an-ounce, Is. 3d.; not exceeding one ounce, 2s. 6d. ; and so on, Is. 3d. for every additional half ounce, or fraction thereof. Newspapers under four ounces each, 4d. Books and pattern parcels not exceeding one ounce, 2d. ; not exceeding two ounces, 4d.; not exceeding four ounces, 7d.; not exceeding eight ounces, Is. 2d. ; and so on, Is. 2d. for every additional eight ounces or fraction thereof.
