POLICE COURT.— Monday.
(Before 11. M. Jervis and E. Isaacs, Esqs.Justices.) Drt.nkenneS3.--J. Nelson, W. Gorlcy, and J. F. Clarke were each fined 5s and costs, or to be imprisoned 24 hours with hard labor. J. Heath forfeited bail. Larceny.— T. Smith and E. Wrixon were charged with having, on the 15th December, stohn various articles of wearing apparel, the property of L. R. James. Remanded till Wednesday. . Aiding Desertion.—Frank Reid was charged with having, on the 7th January, aided a seaman of H.M.S. Clio to desert. Remanded till Wednesday. Vagrancy.— Patrick MiGeary was charged with having, on the Bth January, indecently exposed himself in Queen-street. The man still labouring under the effects of drink, the case was adjourned till Tuesday. Larceny.—J. Nash, alias Mark Phillips, was charged with having, on the Gth instant stolen a jar of rennets, the property of Edward Glanville.—E. Glanville deposed :On the 6th inst. Detective Ternahau drew my attention to the subject, and I missed h jar of rennets. I had seen them the previous evening at the doorway inside the premises. It was then unopened. That produced is mine—S. Dixon deposed : I am a seaman. I know the prisoner. He brought the jar produced to my place on Friday last. He left it on the table ; it was then unopened. I gave it to Detective Ternahan. Prisoner was not residing at my place, but farther up the street.—Detective Ternahan deposed : I arrested prisoner on another charge. I got the jar from the last witness.—Mr. Broham stated that prisoner had been convicted on Saturday of another larceny. Sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour.
