The 'Herald's' Nganiawaliii correspondent writes :— Rumors reached us, through Maori channels, on Saturday, of a murder at Taranaki, and on Monday further news of another at Putea, and one at some place on the East Coast. Native intelligence often turns out to be too t.-uo ; bub I hope it is nothing but a rumour.
