Questions were answered regarding diseased meat; the " state carriage" at the Thames ; tho half-yearly report of the Lunatic Asylum ; aud payment of members of Council. Mr. Dyer's motion for a survey of the line of railway between Port Albert and.Mahurangi was negatived ; Mr. Murray's motion for the abolition of Provincial institutions was debated, and after further debate adjourned. The recom mendntion of the select committee on John Kelly's claim that the costs in his civil suit should be paid, was adopted, and the estimates were further considered.
