CORRESPONDENCE.

To the- Editor of the Evening Stab.
Sir,—May I intrude on your space to contradict a statement made by your correspondent, Ellen Dowd, in your issue of the 9th inst., in which she states that for 12 months I have carried on an uninterrupted career of dissipation. Now, sir, I distinctly deny that such is the case, and as my neighbours can prove, have always been hard working and industrious, and have always kept my home well supplied in everything. What can be your correspondent's reason for making her statecient is best known to herself, but I can, with perfect truth, state that it is a total falsehood. —Hoping you will excuse me for taking up so much of your space.—l am, &c, Petke Dowd.
