A serious landslip occurred at the Shotover mine this morning ; 250 tons weight fell through the staging into the lower workings. The New Tararu claim next to the Vulcan lease have got 9 ozs. from 10 lbs. stone. 75 pounds weight of specimens from Coromandel has given the handsome yield of 53 ounces. At the Court this morning James Heron was charged with assaulting William Simpson. Case dismissedDefendant was also charged with using abusive language to Simpson, and bound over to keep the peace.
