Dbunkknness.—John Buckley was fined 5s and costs, or to be imprisoned 48 hours with hard labor.

Assaulting the Poxjce.—The same prisoner pleaded guilty to having assaulted the police, and the circumstances having been related by Constable Sheldon, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labour. Another charge against the same prisoner for destruction of property was withdrawn. Vagbancy.—Michael Rafferty and* James Gallagher pleaded guilty to a breach 'of tbi. Vagrant Act, in having been fighting in a public place in a manner tending to provoke a breach of tlte peace. The defendants, one of whom presented a most dilapidated face, were fined each 10s, or to be imprisoned 24 hours. LuNAOT,.*rrThe case., of Henry SparxoW,'an alleged lunatic, whose eccentric conduct has recently been before the Police Court was enquired into.—Constable Clark deposed to having heard the ovidence of Henry Sparrow when in the witness box on Tuesday, and his references to the "stain" which had been*put on Hobart Town, and the money offered to him (Sparrow), to take it off; also, that the whole evidence and demeanour in the box were those of a man whose mind was wandering. —Drs. Goldsboro and IJpoper deposed to "various statements made to them by Sparrow, as to his having been offered the appointments of A.D.C. to the Governor, and the management 9f the Bank of New Zealand, and being adjudged a lunatic, he was forwarded to the Lunatic Asylum. ,*,.'
