BOILING DOWN.
A meeting of the shareholders of the Boiling Down Company was held on Saturday afternoon, at the Brim-h Hotel, Queen-street, Mr. Joseph May in the chair. Mr. Q-eorge Gardener was appointed working manager of the establishment for the first season, which will commence as soon as the buildings, &c, are"completed. The charge for boiling down wilLbe £3 per hundred, the owner of the sheep receiving back the tallow, hides and leg 3, on the Australian principle. The newlyelected manager has had a good deal of experience in these matters, and it is hoped that under his management the concern will be made to pay. Mr, Richard Garlick was appointed agent and collector in Auckland. Mr. Joseph May was,? appointed chairman of the Board of Directors. The company decided ..that for the present it would have nothing to do with fellinongering, but that tho manager could go into that branch of the business if lie chose on his own responsibility —at his own loss or profit, as the case may be. It was stated that the company have some .£6OO in hand, which amount will probably be augmented by another £100. The erection of the building will be at once proceeded with, and everything got into working order with as little delay as possible. Matters connected with the internal management of the establishment were discussed by the shareholders dt considerable length, after which the meeting adjourned.
