The Evening Star. WEDNESDA Y, NOVEMBER 16,1870.
A literary and musical entertainment in aid of the Library Fund-of the above Institution, will take place to-morrow evening, in the Booms, Wellesley-street. The Committee of the Association have used their best efforts, with the limited means at their disposal, to improve (he condition df the library. A great deal, however, yet remains to be done. The proceeds of the entertainment aro to be wholly devoted to the purchase of new books! The programme is an attractive one, consisting of readings, recitations, &c, interspersed with musical seleciionSj-and ou-2lnV to induce a largo attendance. The object in view is extremely praise worthy, and we wish the Committee every success in their endeavours to place the Institution - upon a satisfactory "and efaVifent fofltrflg. The price of admission to the entertainment has been fixed at so low a scale as to phice it within the reach of all. Step 3 are 'being taken for [the formation of an artillery .cqtps at the Thames.' Tenders: are required for certain works by the Mount Roskill Highway Board.
