COROMANDEL.

[fro^i the ' herald's" cobkbsponkent.] November 16. The New Zealand Company began on Monday, having two batteries finished, to crush for the Motto for Every Man and the Bay View, The latter is only a trial lot of the old stuff, and does not comprise any of the stone taken fro ■: the drive since the claim has been a;;ain taken up. Neither of the two claims are expected to give very heavy yields. The Nil Desperandum is crushing for the Svveedish all the stone they have taken from the claim. The stuff is making a very fair show on the plates, and when the specimens, of which tlicro is a large quantity, are put. through, there will no doubt be a very large yield. The Whakaroa battery were crushing on Monday for the King of the Ranges and the Royal Oak. I have not yet heard the result. The" battery is now employed on 60 tons from the Tokateu, -which they are crushing in halves, and which, I beliove, will turn out well.

The crushing at the Perseverance battery at the Tiki for the Queen of the Tiki, was completed lust Saturday, and the gold retorted The jield was 76 ounces clean gold from 45 tons of stone, or nearly one o\ n:e and three quart-era to the ton. The G-olden Belt are now putting through a large lot from both upper and lower leaders, and there is a good show on the plates. Another lot of 407 ounces of gold went xxp to Shortland on Monday, by the Lalla Rookl>, from the Little Wonder, making nearly 1,100 ounces within a fortnight from this extraordinary claim. The dividend, when declared, will amount to nearly £1,500 per full share. The All Nations have been taking out from their drive in the Kennedy's Bay side some very fine stone. The leader from which it is taken is about six inches wide. The Hit or Miss claim, on the Ooromandel side, has been taken up again, after having been abandoned for nearly a twelvemonth. The pro3pecU of Coromandel are certainly brightening, and I never saw the hill look better than at the present moment. There is scarcely a claim but i 3 getting gold, and the yield of the precious metal from the crush iugs is increasing erery day. !
