An emergency meeting of Lodge Waitemiifa, 689, E.G., will be held thia evening, at the Masonic Hotel.
By the arrival of the Keera yesterday evening, "we are in receipt of Hawkc's Bay files to the 28th ult. They contain no items of interest to Auckland readers.
We see, by advertisement, that Mr. H. J. Woods' carefully selected stock of stationery and musical instruments, Ac, also over one hundred volumes of books, among which will be found some really first-class work*, are to be sold by auction, without re serve, on Thurday next, by Messrs. Cochrane and Son, at Mr. Bonnington's rooms, Wel-lesler-street. . v
Notice is giren of meetings to be held in the estates of Thomas James Allen and Alfred Eustace.—John Leydon intends to apply for his order of discharge on the 15th instant.— Notice is given in reference to the windiDgup of the Auckland Saw Mill Company. The monthly inspection of the Auckland Artillery and Naval Volunteers was held last evening at the Drill-shed, Fort Britomavt. There was a very good attendance, and the usual evolutions were gone through.
A meeting of the Auckland Caledonian Society was to have been held last evening, at the Old House at Home, Hobaon-street, but in consequence of the meeting at the Mechanics' Institute; it was postponed until next Monday, at the same time and place. -
Mr. P. Quick intimates that from this date he "will run. a 'bus from Queen-street to Sv mon ds-street, Grafton Road, every hour from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
We understand that the " Blanche Ethiopian Troupe," consisting of men belonging to H.M.S. Blanche, purpose giving an entertainment at the City Hall at an early date, the proceeds to be sent to England, to the mother of the unfortunate young man who lately fell overboard from that vessel.
