Drunkenness. —W. Costello and Bridget Hawkesley, for first offences, were fined 5b and costs, or to be imprisoned 24 hours j and Letitia Hughes, for a third offence was fined 20a and to be imprisoned seven days. Eobert Swanson forfeited bail.

Highways Acr. —John Probertwas charged by Herbert Asbton with refusing to pay £•(} 4s 2d, rates due to the Karangahape Highway.Board. Mr. Lusk for the prosecution, Mr.'Wynn for the defence. Herbert Ashion, Collector to the Karnngahape Highway Board produced the Assessment 8011. Mr. "Wynn objected that fhe rate? of various allotments had been lumped into one sum, sued for contrary to the terms of the Act, and Mr. Lusk admitted that the parties bringing the information had wrongly stated the_case,jmd it was dismissed with costs.
