PRESENTATION OF PRIZES.
The presentation of the prizes won at the firing on last Monday and Tuesday, took place in the Albert Barracks yesterday afternoon. There was a very good muster of the men, who were put through various evolutions, which were creditably gone through. After the drill was over the men were formed into a square, when Captain Derrom presented the different prizes to the winners. Private J. W. Duff was the winner of the vase presented by T. L. Campbell, Esq. Captain Derrom said that he had hoped to see Colonel Lyons on the ground, but he had received a telegram
stating that the Colonel was very sorry, but that he could not pp's.-iblyjbe present. _The fine band of the Auckland:' Rifle Volunteets was present d'uriug the proceedings, and played various airs.
