A deputation has waited upon the Hon. the Colonial Treasurer, the subjects brought under his»notice, were: Question of Water Supply ; the Volunteers ; Capitation Allowance; tho Retention of Drill Instructors ; aud the providing of Targets and Big Guns for practice ; the Removal of the Telegraph Office to Grahamstown. To all these subjects Mr. Vogel promised his best attention.
Various deputations waited upon him from 10 to 12.30.
A public meeting is now proceeding in support of the policy of the General Government. There is a numerous attendance, and the greatest interest
