ARRIVAL OP SIR GEORGE GREY.
Sin Geoege G-itur, late Governor'of this colony, accompanied by his niece, Miss Matthews, arrive.! in Auckland by the City of Melbourne yesterday afternoon; Sir George was greeted on the wharf by many of his old friends, and walked up as far as the.corner of Fort-street, where he roitiained for some time engaged iv conversation; He said that the day of his return to New Zealand, and walking up Queen-street, would be remembered as one of the happiest of his life. Sir George left for the Kawau by the steamer Go-iAhe&d in the evening. He is looking remarkably: well, and somewhat stouter than when we last had the pleasure of seeing him.
