The Bishop o{ Waipu preached a sermon in which he defended the Church "from the charge of having failed to benefit the native race. The oaths of tbe Queen's supremacy and of obedience were omitted ; but a declaration was made in lieu of the latter. Bishop Hadfield was formally inducted in the evening by the Lord Primate, and led to his chair by the Eev. Mr. Stock, the oldest clergyman in the diocese. The Primate preached.
