ARRIVAL OF THE TARANAKI.
The fine s.s. Taranaki, E. Wheeler, Esq., commander, arrived in the Manukau from Southern ports at 10 o'clock this morning. We are miiebled to Mr. Moss, purser, for the latest files. The laranaki reports having left Port Chalmers at 4. 0 p.m on the sth, arriving at L^ttelton at. 10.20 a.m. on the 6th ; left Lyitelton at midnight on the 6th, arriving at Wellington at 8 pm. on the 7th; left Wellington at 8 a.m. on the Bth, arriving at Nelson at 9 p.m. on the Bth ; left. Nelson at 8 p.m. on the 9cli, arriving at Taranaki at 10 a.m. on the 10th; left Taranaki at 5 pm. on the 1 th, arriving as above. J?rom Port Chalmers to Lyiteiton light winds and fine wrather; thence to Nelson, strong head winds and heavy head sea, followed by fine weather till arrival, having made a very smart run up the coast Passengers—Saloon : Misa Sominervill*, Mrs. Clayton and child, Mrs. Turner, Mr. Marks, Captain Carey, and thirteen in the steerage.
Tne Taranaki sails for the South again tomorrow morning.
