'the steamer James Paterson is expected here to day from Sydney. The s.s. ftorm Bird took her departure for Wanganui and the West Coast yesterday. Passengers—Mis- Burns, Mess.s. Mo tt, Freeth, uoray, Bishop, Waiker, Fogariy, Longhurst, Bainey, Haswill, Hay ton, and eight boys. We understand that the Coquette was insured in the New Zealand Insurance Company's offi c for the sum of £800. The following vessels were lying at Apia, Navigator Islands, on Sept. B:—Milton, whaler, of New Bedford j San Fran isco, barque, of Hamburg; Alfred, brig, of Hamburg ; Saphie, barque, of Hamburg ; John Williams, Missionary birque; Kcnilvvorth, schooner, of Auckland; Susannah Booth, schooner, of Sydney.
