IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act 1858," I, Henry Colin Balnea .'is, Esquire, Keturnint; Officer for the Electoral District of > ewton, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the eighth day of September, 1870, issued under the hand of his Honor the Superintendent, an ELECTION will be held fo._ the return of TWO qualified persons to serve as MEMBERS for the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL for the said Electoral District, and that the NOMINATION of such Candidates will take place at the Newton Academy, Newton, at noon on TUESDAY, the fourth day of October, 1-/0, and that the Poll (if necessary), will take place on WEDNESDAY, the sth day of October, 1870.
