THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29. (Before Lis Honor Sir G. A. Arney, Knight, Chief Justice.)

His Honor took his seat on the bench at 11 o'clock, and disposed of the following busines :

The following bankrupts were unopposed, mcl received their discharge : —Frank Towers, comedian. John Gwynncth, engineer ; liabilities, £1,440 13s 9d, incurred principally in mining speculations ; assets, £(iOO 63 6d. Henry Abbot Mail*; this was an adjourned case held over from the last sitting.

James Mackey, June. —Personal liabilities, £4,593 19s Bd. Partnership liabilities, £9,7-3 4s 7d; personal assets, £8,432 lis lOd . made up of book debts, £593 b's 10J ; household and ollice furniture, £55 5s ; freehold land at Tararu wharf, dwelling-house and land at Shortland, land at Collingwood (1090 acres). The land at Tararu and Short land is mortgaged to the Bank of Australasia ; that at JXelson to the Loan Company. The pa. inership liabilities were set down at £5,965 9s 6d ; made up book debts, £548 4s 6d; freehold land at Korokoro, Huikaretu, Taukitirahi, and Shortland, valued at £1,601) ; lease of block at Ohinemuri, valued at £2,500. These assets were mortgaged to the Bank of Australasia. Ollice of Mackey, Taipaii, and Co , valued at £500; olliue furniture, valued at £45 ; Waiwakarun*a Forest, value £450; purchases of land complete, £1000; mining interest, £1822; interest, in Hauraki Saw Mill, £500 ; total assets, £17,30_ Is 4t_ ; apparent surplus, £2990 17s Id. The report of the Trustee stated that in the present state of the mining interests, there was not much to be expected from the realisation of such items, or from the endeavour to collect the book debts.
