ARRIVAL OF THE AMERICAN MAN-O'-WAR RESACA..
The U.S. 5.9. Resaca, R. F. R, Lewis, commander, arrived in the Gulf last evening, »nd anchored outside the North Head. The Resaca is last from Levuka, Fijis, being 15 days from that port. She came up harbour this morning, and remain here till th Ist of October, when she will sail for Valparaiso. From Levuka to thi. port she experienced unsettled weather and baffling winds.
The Resaca is a fine rakish-looking and powerful vessel, of 900 tons register. Sin carries nine guns, six of which arc 8-inch smooth bores, onelOO-pounder Dahlgren pivot rifled, one 24-pounder Dahlgren pivot, and one 12-pounder pivot monitor.
