By the mail received last evening, we have news of the safe arrival of the ships City of Auckland, Captain Ashby, aud the Helenslee, Captain McDonald, from this port ; the former making the passage in 106 days, and the latter in 1.14 days. From private letters to hand we learn t: at Captain Ash by was jammed for a month, between 11 it> Western Islands and the Channel, by a continuance of easterly winds. He was intending to sail for Auckland on the 25th ult.
