(Before Joseph May and Q-. M. Mitford, Esqs., Justices). HTTNICIPAI POLIOS ACT.
Eliza Walker was fined ss. and costs for allowing two cows to wander in Nelsonstreet.
J. Cosgrave was charged by the Inspector of Nuisances, with allowing a show board on the 27th August to hang orer the foothpath in Queen-street. Mr. Wynn for the prosecution. J. Young, Inspector of Nuisances, deposed that Mr. Cosgrave is a linen draper in Queen street; I complain of his placing a sign board oti the footpath, generally on Saturdav'a. To defendant: It was a show-board—a po#t«r, but not male of wood. Mr. Congrave explained that it was a paper poster, suspended 10 feet over head. The Beach held that it came within t^e meaning of tha Act, and fined defendant ss. arH costs.
W. Kdwar-'i was charged with allowing a horse and cart to bu drawn aeros* the footpath in Grey-street. Mr. Wynn, for the prosecution, was willing to withdraw the case on payment of costs, as the servant driving the cart, wlio hal been impertinent to the Inspector, had been dismissed. Case withdrawn. The Court then rose.
