J. Connor, for a second offence, was fined 10s and costs, or to be imprisoned 48 hours.

EMBEZZLEMENT,

E. Wrixon was charged with embezzling £2 10s, the property of G. Cook. On the application of Mr. Broham, the case was remanded till Thursday. municipal roMCE act. Martha Crook, for allowing a goat to stray, was fined 5s and costs. J. Rose was fined for a similar offence J. Brown pleaded not guilty to a simdar charge. The case was adjourned till WednesW. Eyre was fined 5s for a similar offence. J: Ritchie did not appear to a similar charge, in consequence of illnes3, and the case was adjourned till Wednesday. PUBLICAN'S LICENSING. ACT. y E. Perkins was charged with permitting drink to be supplied to a person intoxicated on the 18th inst. Mr. Wynn, for the defence, objected to the form of the information as not stating that defendant held a publicans license. Mr. Broham applied for an adjournment, in order to prove the holding of a license. Adjourned till Tuesday next. J. C. Browne was charged with having neglected' to keep a light burning at his licensed hotel, the Albion Inn, between the hours of 3 and 4 on the morning of the 26th August. Mr. Wynn, for the defence, explained that it was a gas lamp, and had been blown out by the wind. Mr. Broham in the circumstances withdrew the case. John Nicholson, of the General Cameron hotel, was charged with a similar offence. The same explanation being given, the case was likewise withdrawn.

The Court then rose.
