THE SURVEY.

A survey as to the amount of damage dono by the fire was held at 11 o'clock this forenoon, by Captain Daldy and Captain Clayton, on behalf of the ship, and in the presence of G. P. Pierce, Esq., for the New Zealand Insurance Company ; G. Thome, I sq., for the Pacific Insurance Company ; and D. Cruickshank, Esq., for the Southern Insurance Company. It was found that £500 worth had been damaged ; that the decks and beams had been very much charred, and that the chief damage had been done to cargo consigned to Napier. Nothing was known as to the oriein of the fire, which will be the subject of a special inquiry, probably, on Monday.
