LONDON MARKET REPORT. Saturday, July 9, 4 p.m. New Zealand flax rising ; Australian tallow stands at ruling prices, the market tone is decidedly healthy, and all importations are fully absorbed at 43s to 43s 6d. Sheep tallow, 455; and 43s for fine beef.
Wool is in good demand, and quarterly sales are going off in a spirited manner. Continental sales are large, and prices firm. The arrivals are large, and are rapidly disposed of.
Leather is much sought for. Hides are steady at 3Jd for salted, 4^d for first, lively and s^d to s^d for first light. A firm market is anticipated for some time. Kauri gum stands firm, and rapid sales are exhausting the market. Prices range from 51s to 61s.
