July 16. The Duke of Pdinburgh spent tendaji at Mauritius Very pleasantly ; he left Port Louis for the Cape on the 3rd June. §§ Sir Henry Borkly left the same day. The mail for England, by the French mail steamer Volga, from Galle to Mai* seilles, passed through the Suez Canil, and was delivered in twenty days. It is expected the English company will reduce their rate of passage fares. The French Government have organised a transport service, via the Sue? Canal, from Toulon to Saigon. The Avoca was four and a half davi late. The mails from Australia go ty the Bombay, and will arrive one weelater.
