MR. WEBB AND THE NEBRASKA.

From a passenger by the City of Melbourne, yeslerday, we learn that it is the intention of Mr. Webb to send down the Nebraska next month to Melbourne, on an experimental trip. The Nebraska was to proceed to Wellington, in consequence of the Governor being at that pluoe, at tho Session of Assembly, and it was believed that th evessel could perform the trip through in twenty clays.

POLICE COURT.—Monday.

(Before G. M. Mitford and J. May, Esqs., J.P.s.) DRUNKENNESS. J. Cox, T. Jackson, C. Carey, and H. Cunningham were each fined 5?. and costs, or to be imprisoned 24 hours with hard labor. T. Reid forfeited bail for non-appearance. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. W. Thompson and W. Rice were for this ofFenco each fined 20s. and costs, or to be imprisoned 48 hours with hard laboi\ VAGRANCY AND DItUNKENNESS. M. Ryan, for drunkenness, was fined ss. and costs, or to be imprisoned 24 hours with hard labor. 3he same prisoner, arrested on a warrant issued in January, 1869, on the charge of being an habitual drunkard, pleaded guilty. Mr. Weston appeared voluntarily for prisoner, and pleaded the lapse of time, and also the fact of his having been all the time in the bush at work, to which he was returning. '.I he Bench viewing the case mercifully, discharged the prisoner with a caution. LARCENY. M. Burns was charged with robbing clothes lines of various articles of clothing to the value of 60s. On the application of Mr Broham, the case was adjourned till Thursday. MERCHANT SHIPPING ACT. G. Mills, charged with disobedience to orders on board the Santon on the 14th Inst., pleaded guilty. Mr. Weston, for complainant, did not desire to press the charge, as the offence was an ebullition of temper, and Mills was ordered to pay costs and return to the ship. H. Lake was charged with disobedience to orders on board the Argyleshiro on the 15th instant. Mr. Weston appeared for Captain Todd. W. Todd, captain of the Argyleshire produced the articles, and deposed that being in the cabin on the morning of the 15th inst., prisoner came for his discharge, and ordered him to leave the cabin ; he refused, and gave me most offensive and abusive language. He followed me to the poop, and I sent for a policeman; he continued to use abusive language to me.

James Tnylor, chief officer on board, corroborated the previous evidence.

To be impris.ned for two weeks, and pay costs.

The Court then rose.
